Latas Surf House Halloween Party: welcoming Amelie in Somo
All the alerts were activated as hurricane Amelie was about to arrive to the coast of Cantabria and hit Somo beach. But this didn’t stop all our guests surfing in Somo with us and later join our Halloween party. Latas Surf House was dressed for the event: spiderwebs, pumpkins and magic potions that would enlighten the way to the witches’ Sabbath that was about to happen. All this before the arrival of the storm that would put an end to this terrific night of after surf dancing.
That night, characters from the Netherlands, France, Italy and from all corners of Spain came to present their respects to the god of the monster waves. Everybody came for one thing: surfing the coasts of Cantabria and having the most fun. A night to remember.
The music exceeded the expectations and so did the guests. Between rock, punk, techno and why not, a little of reggaeton tracks, a couple of madrid guys started to play the trumpet and a saxo, mixing their notes with the crazy dancing moves people were hitting.
The next day, our “boss” Ale Morales tackled the waves on the fishing town of Laredo, a spot that was only surfed by the best and reckless surfers of the area. Right handed barrels on sand bottoms were spotted by surfers in jetskis and photographed by many pro photographers that didn’t want to lose the chance to see these riders in action. In this picture you can see Ale trying to get out of a massively powerful barrel breaking almost at the very shore.
To sum up, this was one of many parties that we’ve had in Latas Surf during this year and also one of the last before the Surf Camp season ends. We hope those who came had the fun you deserve after surfing the waves that evening. Thank you for bringing your good vibes to our surfhouse from all corners. See you son amigos!
